Yvonne Goldsmith
Yvonne is one of Australia's most well recognised salsa dancer with training in Jazz/Funk, Salsa (On1 & On 2), Merengue, Bachata, Classical Ballet, Street Cha Cha, Samba, Lambada, Gymnastics and Pilates. Yvonne and her new dance partner Krin Bajough won 1st place at the Australian Salsa Classic in April 2007. They will be representing Australia in Orlando at the World Salsa Championships, December 2007. Krin and Yvonne were recently semi-finalists representing Australia at the Puerto Rico World Salsa Open in July 2007.
In 2004, she claimed the following titles:
* Australian Open Salsa Champion in 2004
* Sydney Salsa Champion
* Havana Club Freestyle Champion
In 2005 she was a competitor & finalist in 2 world championships in Los Angeles.
She has travelled to represent Australia in Rome, Milan, Nettuno, Brescia, Genova, Japan, England, Switzerland, Singapore, Los Angeles, New Zealand, Puerto Rico and all around Australia teaching workshops, private lessons, performing and competing. She has also made various apperances on televsion, magazines and newspapers both international and nationally. She has received many inviations to represent Australia in places such as San Fransisco, Berlin, Madrid, Malaysia, Thailand, Tonga, New York, Indonesia, Hawaii, Dubai and Houston.
The young Yvonne is known for her fire, energy, attitude and ladies styling. Since October 2002 she has taught countless numbers of students, her forte being with advanced salsa dancers and ladies styling. She is also known for her ability to break down technique in deatil and create and teach a choreography that can make students look professional.
Yvonne has been nominated for an Antenna Award in 2008 for "Best Female Presenter" for her work on Latin Dance Alive.
